what is the time frame of a mid-day visit?

While schedules may vary slightly from day to day, we aim to complete all mid-day visits between 10AM and 2PM.

Schedule for One (1) Mid-day Visit: The exact time for your pet’s visit will depend on our routing for the day.
If you need a specific time for medical reasons (to administer medication), please let us know during the in-home consultation or feel free to call the office if you are an existing client who needs a temporary adjustment.

Schedule for Two (2) Mid-day Visits: The first visit is at the beginning of the mid-day schedule and the second visit is at the end of the mid-day schedule.  That generally gives between 3 – 4 hours between visits.  Please let us know during the in-home consultation if you need different times as we are happy to accomodate your pet’s needs.

3 visits per day is $66 per day

Pricing is for up to two animals. See FAQ below for additional pet fees.

Will you do an overnight stay in my home with my pets?

Yes.  Overnight stays are certainly an option.  For overnight stays our sitters arrive between 9 – 10PM and stay until 6 – 7 AM.
Pets are fed breakfast before the sitter leaves in the morning and dinner when they arrive at night.
If you are gone more than one day, we also require a mid-day walk for your pets.

One overnight stay: $105
More than one overnight stay + mid-day visit each day:  Total daily cost is $130.

Will you keep my pets in your home while we're away on vacation?

Yes, we will keep a pet overnight in one of our pet sitters homes if you are an existing client and we know your animal well.  All other inquiries are considered on a case by case basis.   Please call us to discuss your situation and needs.

Will you bring in the mail or packages?

Yes, of course.  We’re happy to bring in any mail or packages each day.
We also perform general property and security checks, turn lights off/on and water indoor plants while you’re away.
Use the app to send us a note letting us know that you are expecting a package or would like plants watered.

Will my pets be exposed to other animals while I'm away?

No. All visits are private visits.  We never bring another animal into your home.
If, however, you and a neighbor are traveling together and you want your pups to have a play date while you are away, we can certainly arrange that. Both you and your neighbors must be Barkly Grove clients.

Can you give my pet medicine?

Yes.  Dogs – we can give pills in their food or by hand.  We can administer ear drops, eye drops and insulin shots.  Cats – we give pills in their food only.

How long is each visit?

Each visit is approximately 30 minutes long.  We take your pet out to potty, have a little play time for exercise and give meals and/or snacks.

Holiday Policies / Pricing

All holiday visits or vacations scheduled over a holiday and/or holiday weekend must be booked three weeks in advance.  All late additions will be charged a $15 late fee per animal and subject to availability.

We do not charge additional fees for most holidays.

We do charge an additional fee for all major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.  There is an additional $20 charge for each visit.

cancellation policy

All cancellations for normal visits and non-major holiday visits must be made 24 hours in advance of scheduled visits.  If cancellations occur inside this window the full visit fees for all visits scheduled for that day will be charged to your account.

veterinary emergencies

In the event of a medical emergency, we will call you and your vet.  If your vet can see your pet right away, we’ll transport them immediately.  If your vet states that they cannot see them or if it is after hours, a weekend or a holiday, we will transport your pet to the nearest emergency veterinary clinic.

Transportation: Our sitters will transport your animal to your vet or the closest emergency vet clinic.  Depending upon the severity of the emergency, we will make every effort to remain with your pet until you arrive.  In rare instances where we cannot, they will be left at the vet in their care.

Decisions: In the event that you cannot be reached right away, we will reach out to your secondary point of contact.  If they cannot be reached right away, we will act in accordance with our best judgement and the recommendations of the veterinarian.

We will authorize only non-surgical medical treatments.  We will never authorize a surgery.

Charges: We do not charge a transportation fee for emergencies.

Fees: You are responsible for all fees incurred from the emergency.  If a clinic requires any upfront payment, we will pay the fee and charge the balance of costs incurred to your card on file.

*Please note that we have an Emergency treatment form that outlines the exact level of authority we are granted for your animal in case of emergency.  You can choose to follow the scenario outlined above or choose another option.

shots / vaccinations required

We must have your animal’s current vaccine certificates for: rabies, distemper/parvo and bordatella.

what if I have a house guest during the time of a scheduled visit?

If any house guests are staying during our scheduled visits, we must have their full name and a photo 24 hours in advance of the visit. Our team will not enter into a property with an unidentified occupant.  Note that if notice of house guest is not received, you will be charged for all visits scheduled that day.

Will you let anyone else in my house?

No. We will never allow anyone into your home, even if you ask us to.  For the safety of our sitters, we do not allow anyone to enter the property while we are present. While we are sure that your friends and family are trustworthy, we have not met them and cannot risk the safety of our team.

COVID-19 Precautions

We are open and operating at full capacity.  We are taking every precaution to ensure the health and safety of you, your pets and our team in accordance with CDC guidelines.
